Catalytic Reformer¶

Shortcut Catalytic Reformer (semi-regenerative or CCR-equivalent). Feed: heavy naphtha. Products: 3 material outlets — net H₂, light ends (C1–C4), and reformate (aromatics-rich). Heater duty (endothermic) is absorbed from the energy connector. The yield slate is anchored at BaseSeverityRON and shifts linearly as TargetSeverityRON increases: more H₂, more light ends, less reformate. All three outlets are emitted as moles of a single surrogate compound each (Hydrogen / Propane / Toluene by default).

Example¶
This code runs on every build of this site, and the output below is what it printed.
# The products leave as one surrogate compound each: hydrogen, propane (light ends)
# and toluene (reformate). The paraffin content of the feed shifts the H2 yield.
fs = (Flowsheet.Create("ReformerExample")
.WithCompounds("Hydrogen", "Propane", "N-heptane", "N-octane",
"Methylcyclohexane", "Cyclohexane", "Toluene")
.WithPropertyPackage(PropertyPackages.PengRobinson))
naphtha = fs.AddMaterialStream("Heavy-naphtha").At(Q.Celsius(120.0), Q.Bar(18.0))
for name, kg_s in {"N-heptane": 7.0, "N-octane": 6.0, "Methylcyclohexane": 7.0,

Feed paraffins = 52 wt% (aromatics 8 wt%)
Reformate = 81.9 wt% at RON 100

Config: Gets or sets the reformer configuration: reactor temperature and pressure, LHSV, heater duty per kg of feed, base...
Gets or sets the reformer configuration: reactor temperature and pressure, LHSV, heater duty per kg of feed, base and target severity RON, base yields and their sensitivity to RON, feed PNA corrections, sulfur and nitrogen partition fractions, and the surrogate compounds for the three outlets (Hydrogen, Propane and Toluene by default). Saved with the flowsheet.
IsRefining: Gets a value that is always true.
Gets a value that is always true. It marks this class as a refining unit operation, so the flowsheet object palettes (which read it by reflection) list it under the Refining category.
MobileCompatible: Gets a value indicating whether this unit operation is compatible with mobile interfaces.
Gets a value indicating whether this unit operation is compatible with mobile interfaces. Always false.
ObjectClass: Gets the simulation object class category (Reactors).
Gets the simulation object class category (Reactors).
Prefix: Gets the default name prefix for this unit operation ('REF-').
Gets the default name prefix for this unit operation ("REF-").
